Quarantined!!! Oh my!
Posted On March 28, 2020
Funny how I’m okay to stay home for days on end. But when I’m told to stay home… well that is a different story!
I want to run free through the tulips. (so sad I didn’t get to experience this) And yes even walk to my classes on campus, early in the morning, with my friend!
But we get to stay home right now, to protect ourselves and others. Working on my next BGMC lesson. Maybe I’ll try a video. hahahahahaha
So what are you doing during this quarantined time? Comment below.

We are staying in touch with everyone via Zoom. Learning to love it. Streaming church. Last service was interactive. There were times to pause and do things at home with each other that made it much more personal – not just a video on the screen. Our community groups are on Zoom now, too. Trying to keep in touch with family and friends and encourage each other. Due to my compromised respiratory system, we have to be extra cautious. but refuse to live in fear. Charlie is working on his Harley. I’m coordinating things / needs for our community group. We have had 2 long periods of confinement in the past. One when my leg was amputated in an injury and reattached and another when fungus from hurricane Harvey got in my lungs (thus the compromised respiratory system) and had me VERY sick for months. We have been limited for extended periods twice before, so we KNOW we can and will get through this. It doesn’t make it any easier, but we have a 100% successful track record. Praying for everyone. Every day, Charlie and I pray to come out of this better. Closer to each other and close to the Lord. We pray that he shows us things about ourselves that we didn’t see before. Stress does that. UGH! Do it, Lord! Otherwise, what a waste of time! Share Jesus. Be Jesus.
Learning how to function remotely! Never was willing to do video meetings until now… growth is happening!
I’m on the list of “essential” workers – but my job can also be done remotely in situations like this! Funny how suddenly being forced to do things differently helps us stretch ourselves and go on new adventures!
Staying in compliance with federal, state, local and pastoral recommendations. Only going out to get groceries. Taking Ranger Kids ministry to Facebook and e-mail. Rather be with the kids in person, but we know we must do what is best for our community.

Lots of extra bible study…I’m doing three right now 😉 Also enjoying having two grand babies living with us during this season of staying home. I’ve been working on my closet and bagging up clothes to donate. A friend just posted about washing out all those make-up brushes we never get around to cleaning…I’ll do that next!
Also, spending time dreaming of seeing friends at church again, and eating in restaurants!
I have been limiting myself to only one movie and a couple of hours of Magnum PI😁. In between, I take naps 😴 and scrapbook✂️! Every once in a while I will hit the drive thru for some Mexican food 🌮; you’ve got to make sure to take care of the necessities of life!!!
I am doing schoolwork of my own. Doing counseling sessions with my classes through online resources. And just moved so working hard on fixing up the new house and moving in. Enjoyed a horseback ride with my sweet hubby yesterday. I am actually enjoying the time home with my husband. Now, I will “complain”‘that I am currently not able to substitute teach at the moment, so not getting paid. Otherwise, this is a good time for me.
Working from home even though our department was labeled essential. My role is one that I can do remotely.
The family has been keeping in contact via the Marco Polo app and by phone. We have mowed our yard, disinfected the house and have kept grocery store visits to extreme minimal. We are doing great!!!
Safely playing golf, following all the Alamo City Golf guidance. Eating too much ice cream and watching too much Netflix.
In addition, I am completing the necessary lawn duties and planning to plant a couple trees in the back yard.

We are staying busy around the house but it is hard not to jump in the car on a whim. David is finishing up a beautiful 1,000 piece puzzle of southern France, and I have read 3 books in a little over a week! We do enjoy the streamed church services – we listen to ours and then because of the time difference, we see San Antonio also. More time for daily devotions is great.
Staying home, unless I’m with my client finishing up her remodel. No more than 4 people around most days… other than that, watching movies, reruns of hockey games, baking and walking outside for some sunshine.
Trying not to lose my mind!
